Spring in Durban is a unique experience. While visitors may expect gorgeous blooms and temperate, but sunny, days…it’s our rainiest season of the year! It often feels like Winter wants one final chance to show us Durbanites what chilly really is, and we all put our boots back on for a few more weeks.
Nonetheless, the Spring rains are so welcomed and, as we think of our fellow citizens in the Western Cape, our water conservation measures prove ever more critical, as the season turns to Summer soon. We’re looking forward to a bustling Summer season, and the finalisation of renovations in the nearby Umhlanga Village.
“The Village” - as locals call it - is a busy hotspot of entertainment venues, eateries, and conveniently located shops. Superbly located between our neighbourhood and the hotels along the Umhlanga promenade, The Village has grown substantially over the past decade. Now boasting some of Durban’s very best restaurants, and adjacent to the Pearls of Umhlanga residential resort, The Village is a one-stop-everything-you-need-spot, and a few new establishments have opened their doors here too. We’re looking forward to trying out Turn ‘n Tender, Mythos and more. While renovations are taking place, it has been a little crazier than usual, but we expect that – by the time the holiday season sets in – we’ll have even more to enjoy and explore in ‘our’ Village!
